Our History

Finger Lakes Reformed Church was established on December 14, 2025, as a church plant and second campus of Sharon Reformed Church in Sharon Springs, NY.

The vision for a Reformed Gospel witness in the Finger Lakes region grew out of the same conviction that has driven Sharon Reformed Church since its founding: that the historic Reformed faith, faithfully preached and genuinely lived, transforms individuals, families, and communities. Skaneateles and the greater Finger Lakes region represented a clear mission field, an area of Central New York with deep cultural roots and a genuine hunger for something historically grounded and theologically serious.

Under the leadership of Pastor Jim Peck, ordained minister with the Alliance of Reformed Churches, Finger Lakes Reformed Church launched its first worship service on December 14, 2025, gathering a small but committed congregation at 1326 New Seneca Turnpike in Skaneateles, New York. From that first Lord’s Day gathering, the mission has been simple and unchanged: to glorify God, to preach Christ crucified, and to make disciples in the Finger Lakes region and beyond.

What began as a church plant is growing into a full campus of confessional Reformed witness in Central New York, rooted in the Three Forms of Unity, committed to expository preaching, and anchored in the life of a covenant community.

Sharon Reformed Church was founded in 1771 and has faithfully served Schoharie County and the surrounding region for more than two centuries. Finger Lakes Reformed Church carries that same heritage into a new community, planting the same ancient faith on the shores of the Finger Lakes.

We are just getting started. To God alone be the glory.
